Title: Registration deadline of Political Parties, ---closing the door?

As we see that the prominent political players are probably plotting a grand design for the next 300 years in the name of new Nepal and Constitutional Assembly. Most probably they do not want to see any indigenous political party in the competitive field as they are going to close the door for indigenous people by putting the dead line of party registration as early as possible ? January 14, 2008, that means 4 days more now.

Hurry up intellectuals! don’t let them close the door for indigenous people participating and writing the new constitution. But Let janajati intellectuals enter as many as possible through our own political party. let's not miss the deadline, whoever are available in Kathmandu, please register our own party in any name---so that indigenous people can unite under one single umbrella----Any brave indigenous intellectuals who are physically present in Nepal at this moments should lead the initiation of party registration with any names such as “Nepal Indigenous Democratic Alliance”, or “Nepali People’s Alliance” or “Nepali Indigenous Alliance for Democracy” etc. Because, if we miss this oppertunity, the viscious cycle of confusion repeats and we can not even enter the room where the new constitution will be written without the blessing of major party leaders.

On many occasions of indigenous people's gathering, right from the beginning of Global Federation of Indigenous people of Nepal (GFIPN) in New York in 2005, I have expressed the need of a independent indigenous political party in Nepal as the common concern of all indigenous people to be able to compete with “Bahun deminated polical parties”. Our ultimate goal should be to remove the corrupt and evil minded politicians from the scene.

Our efforts through NGO is not enough. Although Non profit or social or ethnic based organization are useful for the awareness activities, however, they can not compete with political parties in policy decisions. NGO/Non profit can only make voice, ask for justice, demand for rights and equality/equity but can not compete and fight in the field. We must not expect from them but we must knock down and defeat them in the political battle field.

As I expressed earlier in few occasions, I preferred the word “Kirats” to “Janajati” because, the first one was the original and second one was given by others. As you know, we have to find out the specific answer to a very important question as to why the majority of the indigenous people (72%) are marginalized, oppressed and suppressed by the current ruling elites in Nepal? why are we deprived of national resources. The answer is easy but not straight forward.

As you all know, the grand parents of the current prominent political elites were full time refugee trying to survive through Hindu religious influence during the first 300 years of the last 600 years when Kirats (the original name of Janajati) were in power in all mountainous/Himalayan regions/countries. Somehow with their shrewd strategies, religious influences, socio-political grand design and conspiracy they became the major political players and destroying their cultures, religion, language and scripts, they divided kirats or janajati emotionally into small subgroups and defeating politically they also dispersed/isolated kiarts/janajati geographically and separating physically in different localities and thus they deprived kirats/janajati from educational opportunity and they even sold these innocent own human beings as mercenary exposing to world wars in order to remove from their homeland.

Thus, their first and second grand designs have been successful as indigenous people mostly disappeared from the political scene during the second half of the last 600 years.
Now they are going to plot a third grand design.
We must be ready to defend our position from this grand design this time.

Thank you all,
Dr-Uncle ...

Indigenous people's party

Date Tuesday, January 15th 2008, 7:20 AM

Thank you Seema jee, Dev jee, Tagera jee for the raising very valid concern regarding our own political party.
A good news is that those friends and Kirats/Janajati of Hills and Tarai, who are not already affiliated and not involved with Bahun parties/palace and who strongly believe in a seperate people's party, have united now and registered a political party on Jan 14, 2008 and Name is "Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Manch". The chairman is Kamal Chharahang.
I believe that this party should really respect and reflect our thoughts and spirits.
"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago and second best time is now".
Thank you all for moving forward for a good cause.

TMDP headed by Mahantha Thakur includes leaders of major parties who had recently revolted from their respective parties to float the new party.

The TMDP leaders have been saying that they had formed a new party to promote the rights of Madhesi people.

Indigeneous and kirati people have not finished

Date Thursday, January 10th 2008, 8:31 PM

Indigeneous and kirati people have not finished yet...

Our revolution have not started yet... we have long way to go....

We have not establish our own political party and leadership.... We indigenous and kirat people 20% hardly know Nepalese social and political problem, but rest 80% still confuse, lost track and blind on it.

Our school education are corrupt, educated people by only book can not trust.

Our social organizations need to be frontline social and political educators for our communities and people.

We must do preparation for next Ethinic Revoolution... it will dirty it will sad but we must do it. We do not have choic or the good option.

Take time... think quick... and take action quick

its an urgency....

Date Thursday, January 10th 2008, 1:25 AM

dear kiratisaathis....we have talked abt our problems so far and with vaired views it comes to know that almost all of us are aware that we are deprived of resources...opportunities....equality...from every aspects of development. politcally we r not in decisoin and policy making places..economically we dont handle any industries or investmemts...socially we r just following wat we have been tought...so think ..where do we stand?...ask yourself..what will be the consquences if we just remain quite and live like our ancestors...?...
the voice of our unity has been declared since long time but from the very beginning we have been divided by the oppressor...so still we lack the feeling of unity among us. recently one of the janajati party was spilted. which is indeed not good news. and there are so many tiny parties who is just exist in name ...but never won or participated in any of the elections bcos they r not parties in actual but formed by those cunning bahuns to divide us more deeply in any ways....
i cant claim that our people will unite like madhesi so easily coz we think we lived independently...and we need seperate states. but the fact, wat i think, is its not the time to think abt seperation but unity and capturing the ca seats with majority...and make policies infavour of marginalised ..suppressed...people and make them feel why we are nepali?..what is my role in this country?..in simple language...ones rights and duties.
as premraine said the party should be nonvoilent...democratic....yes indeed it the demand of each and every individual. if we be like congress ..uml ..and existing parites then its worthless to form party. since long time we have been used as a vote bank ..now lets not repeat it again and unite and fight together.
thank you

Yes, I agree you,

Date Thursday, January 10th 2008, 12:35 AM

Dear Premraine,
Some friends might misinterprete it as being more racist, violent and agressive. I want to make it clear that we should always be in favor of nonviolence, peace, human rights and we believe in right of expression, intellectual debate and healthy competition.
There are few important questions to discuss:
Why are the majority people 85% rural population deprived of basic needs?
where does the money?
Roads in districts are not constructed in spite of million and million investment from different donors. As of 2005, the black topped road is about 5,301 km in the whole country. Arable lands are not irrigated yet in the agricultural country Nepal.

External debt is more than 3.34 billion dollar and Now Nepal became the 12th poorest country in the world.
Then dense forest has been almost finished within a couple of decades and 44% people live in below international poverty line, (that means 44% people are unable to earn one dollar per day). Unemployment Rate is 42%. Many contemporary countries have left us far behind during last a couple of decades.

In the same way, Nepal Airline (RA) and Thai Airline started from the same point probably in the same year, as you know, Thai Airlines left Nepal Airlines far behind today suffering from tons of corruption cases including Bowing corruption cases (Panchayat resime) and Louda corruption cases etc (after democracy restoration). RA has no single functional Air bus today. Why it happens so?

Corruptions are never approved by big courts / commissions as if there are no any crimes and corruptions. Perhaps this is the right time we should try to know who are these elites? who manage the country? who rule the country? and what is their real motive to rule the country? Who are they in the population?

Who handle money and other national resources, may be we are not talking about the general majority citizens who are from ethnic indigenous communities, who never get chance to represent:

• The political elites and policy making body,
• Higher bureaucracy
• Planning Commissions
• Any constitutional commissions
• Diplomatic Missions
• Academic Institutions
• Security higher officials.
• Higher Legal officials.

So, we are compelled to learn about the political elites of Nepal, tracing back where are they come from, how they attained the power, and what are their real motive?
However, we respect the norm and values of a civilized society and we must respect the civic right, we shuld respect the peace and none violence, human rights, as we want mutual respects, coexistence as it is an intellectual fight, not a physical fight. Yet we deserve the right to condemn the bad motive, conspiracy, corruption, mismanagement and any form of direct or indirect authoritarian mentality in any country.

Because we must remember the consequences of extreme poverty and how it affects the global context in terms of social crimes, political conflicts and blood sheds, HIV explosion, environmental crisis, such as deforestation, desertification and global warning so on and so forth.
Honest intellectuals should come forward to salvage this himalayan country, perhaps establishment of a political party in time is the answer of the above questions.
Than you again Premraine jee.
