Khas are called Pahadi in India.Khas are Aryans but not Vedic Aryans of the plains.Their forefathers came from Central Asia via Iran,Afganstan,Kasmir(Khasmir) and then Kumaon and Garwal along the hills and mountains.They migrated with their goats(Khasi )and other animals first into the Karnali region(Khasan) then along the hills in Nepal.Later Junga Bahadur claimed that their forefathers came from Rajisthan to prove they were Rajputs(because Khas were looked down by plains people).Itihas siromani Baburam Acharya and Prof. Dor Bahadur Bista,Nepal's foremost Anthropologist, both rightly wrote that Khas were not from Rajsthan and not Rajputs,but mountain Aryans who became hindus later than Plains Aryans(the Vedic Aryans).Actually Khas / Khasas were put in the same category as Kiratas and Cina / chinese initially as chetriyas ,and later as Brishal jaati(inferior to Vedic Aryans) in Manusmriti.
