Title: Terai armed outfits to accept agreement with Madhesi

PM Koirala urges Terai armed outfits to accept agreement with Madhesi groups:-

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has said that given the approaching election, the government will not lose any more time in holding dialogue with the armed outfits operating in Terai.

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala talking to media persons at his residence...

Speaking at a press meet in Biratnagar, Sunday afternoon, PM Koirala urged them to come under the umbrella of the agreement, which the government recently signed with agitating Madhesi groups.

"They are welcome to come to the mainstream. But the government will now act strongly to ensure law and order," he said.

Earlier in the morning, PM Koirala had instructed security officials to concentrate on providing security during the forthcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election.

In his interaction with chiefs of security bodies in the eastern town of Biratnagar, Sunday morning, PM Koirala urged them to ensure smooth election.

He instructed them to create such a situation where voters can cast their votes without feeling insecure.

PM Koirala will meet with his party workers and leaders, later on Sunday, to discuss about Congress preparation and position in the election.

PM Koirala is currently in his hometown of Biratnagar to attend to a wedding party of a son of his long-time associate Ram Dev Singh. He is expected to return to the capital on Monday. nepalnews.com sd Mar 09 08 ...

Mahesi Dirty Game start in Officially Nepali

Date Saturday, March 15th 2008, 4:34 PM

MJF proposes President with executive power:-

Madhesi Janadhikar Forum led by Upendra Yadav has proposed for President as the executive head of state in its polls manifesto. The party, which had launched Madhes agitation for autonomous Terai state, has proposed that the President be elected directly through popular vote. However, the party said the President must be accountable to the parliament.

The party has said it favours bicameral parliament at the center and a legislative assembly in the states. The state parliament will elect the chief minister.

The MJF manifesto also says that geography, economic viability and linguistic demography must be the basis for division of federal units. The party has not, however, mentioned the number of federal units, saying that the number should be determined in consultation with experts.

Meanwhile, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) has said its election
manifesto has been finalised and will be publicised in a day or two.
