Govt inks deal with Limbuwan:-
The government has inked five-point understanding with the Federal Limbuwan State Council, Wednesday.
The government accepted the demand of the Council that while restructuring the state, the autonomy would be given to Limbuwan region based on historical background and geographic region.
Likewise, the government agreed to declare Raj Kumar Angdembe, who died during agitation by the Council, as a martyr. It also agreed to provide compensation to his family. The government agreed to withdraw charges leveled during agitation.
Following the agreement, the Council has decided to withdraw all its agitation programmes, which had been affecting the eastern hilly region.
