Title: SLC and After

Popularly known as “IRON GATE”, the School Leaving Certificate is a qualification examination for the young students who have toiled hard for 10(+3) years of study in school to step into the world of college education. With the modification of the exam nature, books, teaching practice, practical examinations have been advantageous to students to pass the examination. The result shows that the pass percentage is increasing yearly. This is good news to us also since this will increase the number of SLC graduates in our community too. The real examination comes after SLC in choosing the further study choice. People used to go by percentage and divisions previously, and same continues now too.

Pass Division-Humanities with easy choices
The parents are not getting into the mind of their children but they are making choices for them, which may turn good and sometimes turns disaster. In our community our fore generations have not got the education and competition that young generations are facing today. So they are fascinated with the words like DOCTOR, ENGINEER, and PILOT and now for girls NURSE. They dream their son or daughter to be one of these but their children might have something different in their mind. To make ones children one of them is not a bad thinking but the parents should know the caliber and interest of their children. These are very costly education that requires a very hard work and sincerity for the students too. This is not the type of education that earn a lot of money in a single day or year that will also take a number of years of hard work. Our society is becoming money oriented so the young students who dream of earning lots of money think these fields as the money oriented which cannot be true in most of the cases. Besides these technical fields there are other field of study like pure science, business and management, humanities and its various fields also various new fields of studies are being introduced to cope up the necessity of the current world problems such as environmental science, archeology, space science, missile science, clash management, hunger management and through out the world these subjects are gaining a high momentum. So there should be a good counseling to the students and parents before they choose any field of study so that they will know about their choices in the future, their ability to study that subject, the monetary aspect. Sometimes our rich parents try to experiment with their money power which can result into a disaster destroying the life of a good children and a capable student ending up indulged into drugs or suicide. The family environment should also be supportive to the field of choice so the student can excel in the chosen field and be a remarkable figure for oneself, family, community and eventually the country.
