Current Affairs - Is Federal Governance the way for Nepalese ???

Date Friday, February 2nd 2007, 10:17 AM Icon 90 Date 4

Changes, many have been touted and promised to us by our sweet-mouthed politicians. With the Maoists embracing main stream politics, many esteem that life in Nepal would gradually change for the better. However, politicians are no magicians and the end of civil-war does not guarantee us, Nepalese a better life ahead and that our grievances whatever that might be, would be addressed as we aspire.

Already fellow citizens in the plains have voiced their claims for rights and some more ethnic communities express their solidarity with them both ideologically and others in practise. Their way of gaining the government’s attention and giving concrete foothold to their claims might not be expressed in a rational manner, but it is a sign of growing unrest in the country. The incident is just an abbreviation of the many issues plaguing the country. It’s just the tip of the ice-berg which could eventually flame out nationwide if left unchecked. ………….

All in all, before Nepal gets ominously close to disintegration, a question arises for all Nepalese. With so many communities, cultures and diversity in a small nation like Nepal, would contriving a federal system of governance genuinely satisfy the pressing needs of oppressed communities in Nepal ??? How many of you are for federalism and is there any other lasting solution(s) before reality implodes ???

Indigenous Kirat people must get Equal and

Date Friday, February 23rd 2007, 2:44 PM

Indigenous Kirat people must get Equal and Fair treatment by Nepali Law and constitution:

This is one good reason, corrupt and criminal crooks political and government people made fail Nepali democracy within 60 years 5 times in Nepal.

There is nothing historical record in the world that 5 times democracy failing in any other country.

Democracy is failing in Nepal because of:

(1) Heavy crimes and corruption in government offices and political parties.

(2) No value at all and undemocratic systems in Law, Order, Rule, Regulation and constitution. Too many loop whole, so criminal and corrupt escape easily.

(3) No Equal treatment and Fairness to all Nepali races, tribes and indigenous people. All Nepalese race and tribes must be equal and share for country development.

(4) Only Bahuns, Chettris and Newars in politics and Nepali government. Rests of the Nepalese race have No luck at all.

(5) Indigenous Kirat people must get Equal and Fair treatment by Nepali Law and constitution.

Why law and constitution? If we do not get Priority, Eligibility and Opportunities in education, government employment and political participation by Law and Constitution, Chettris and Bahuns can twist matters and can change policy, rule, and regulation any time. They will make stupid to us.

These matters must be change for True Democracy, Peace and Developments.

federelism

Date Tuesday, February 6th 2007, 10:28 PM

i am not really an expert in politics but reviewing nepal's history, past events, current affairs n its diverse people n culture i am for federal system. n the reason is, we had obsolute monarchy which is impractical in this present time n in our context it never ruled for its people but for self n family interest. we had post 90s prajatantra but i guess it was more a viel for bahuntantra, cause they cover about 20 percent of total population but thier representation in gov was more than 90 percent. and also really incompetent in thier responsibilities n duties, more an opportunist. we had many other shits like rana n panchayat which always failed. so the only thing reaminaing is federal, n its one of the demand of various ethnic organisations, specailly janjatis, madhesis n dalits. i don't think size of our contry matters given that our geographic terrains r quite extreme. everytime hoping for ktm is again waste of time n unfruitful. except for monetary, national security, foregn diplomacy n other important matters every other power must b given to that federal or state, that is judiciary, legislative and executive.

solution for Nepal Democracy and Government

Date Friday, February 2nd 2007, 2:51 PM

Nepali Democracy failed so many time since 6 decades which behind the cause of corrupt, criminal, stupid and irresponsible leadership and political parties.

In past record, People who ever run Nepali politics, Leadership and government were deep down corrupt and criminals. Therefore, Nepal political stability, development and democracy failed. This cycle of corruption and crime is still running in Nepali political parties and government.

These problem must End by good way or bad way before expecting sweet democracy. Somehow must be end. There will be no compromise or other option. Corrupt and criminal political leaders, members and government authority must off the hand from power. That is the best solution. But corrupt and criminal politician and government authority will not give-up their lavish or luxury and powerful life. Then….

The question is how we can do? In the record of world history, solution always starts by hardship of Civil war, Revolution and People movements.

In this current situation, Yes, I agree with Federal government of Nepal.

There is the most important things must be done thru constitution and law.

(1) Federal and State Government structure must implement in Nepal. So Federal government must have local development power.

(2) Process and procedure of nomination for election. Nepal prime minister must have only 2 terms and 8 years. No more than that. Otherwise prime minister likes dictatorship like Girija and Saddam.

(3) Backward Nepali Indigenous people must get “Quota systems” in (1) Education scholarship (2) Government employments (3) Political participation and (4) social activities by constitution and law. Otherwise, Indigenous people never ever get chance to UP-Lift their social life.

(4) All Nepalese whoever involves in past crime and corruption must re-sign or they must punish by force, law and order. They must not involve in politics and government.

(5) In Central government or parliament, all indigenous tribes must get Quota for their minister or representatives. So indigenous people can able to raise their voice in their problem and issues in parliament or government.

(6) In Nepali constitution and law must have racial balancing act or Equalization act. That means all tribal and racial people must get Equal opportunities in Education, Government employment, political participation and social activities. Equality is true democracy.
